Karen McDaid is a lecturer in Mathematics Education and Pre-service Teacher Education at the University of Western Sydney. She began her teaching career as a primary school teacher and went on to teach high school mathematics before moving into full time tertiary teaching in 2009. She is passionate about mathematics teacher education and her PhD research focuses on how practicum influences pre-service teacher attitudes and efficacy in mathematics.
